HOW TO DETOX YOUR LIFE

Hey guys! Today I wanted to share with you a couple of tips on how I detox, not just my body but my mind and life too. They’re easy steps that you can follow to remove toxic habits from your daily routines.

DETOX YOUR BODY:

REMOVE PROCESSED FOODS

When possible, remove highly processed foods from your diet. Many times we think that we’re eating healthy because we choose products that are labeled as sugar free or with highly beneficial ingredients. But the truth is that many packaged goods are loaded with nocive chemicals and we don’t realize it because we can’t identify them on the labels. When we load our bodies with toxic processed foods,  it becomes more difficult to lose weight or start a healthy diet. That’s why there’s nothing better that eating organic non processed foods. When everything you put into the body is 100% natural and real, it’s so much easier to achieve your ideal body weight and appearance. Plus it makes you feel good too.

REPLACE WITH ORGANIC OPTIONS

Vegetables and fruits are supremely important in any diet, they help prevent chronic diseases, boost the digestive system and help you feel more satisfied and full after meals.

Eat enough protein, whether it is animal or plant-based. For vegetarians, grains, seeds and nuts fill us with healthy fats that boost our energy and help us feel full. They are also great for hair, skin and nails.

Hydration is super important and not only from water. Make soups, green juices, and smoothies with fruits and vegetables that are loaded with liquid, such as cucumbers and spinach.

BEAUTY DETOX

REMOVE TOXIC INGREDIENTS

Beauty products that have long labels with tons of unnatural ingredients that we don't know or understand, are usually very toxic for our skin. Avoid products that contain parabens, synthetic fragrances, colorants, formaldehyde, silicones, petroleum, aluminum, etc.

Don’t ever jump to buying a product without reading the label first. If you want a guide on how to read cosmetic labels, check out our post on the subject:

SWITCH TO CLEAN BEAUTY

Experiment with natural recipes at home, check out my two favorites:

  1. NATURAL FACE MASK
  2. MATCHA RITUAL

Note: NICOLE RAVACHI BEAUTY’s skincare line is 100% CLEAN BEAUTY..

LIVING SPACE DETOX

REMOVE JUNK AND CLUTTER FROM YOUR HOME

Nobody likes a messy environment. Grab a garbage bag and get rid of all that extra clutter in your closet. A clean living space is the first step to a clean life.

DONATE WHAT YOU DON’T USE

Sell or donate old clothes or supplies to someone who truly needs it. These kind gestures are highly appreciated and you’ll even thank yourself for liberating your home from all of those useless items.

SOCIAL MEDIA DETOX

TAKE A DAY OFF SOCIAL NETWORKS

We all know that social media can sometimes be bad for our mental health. Spending hours and hours scrolling down our insta feeds will eventually take a toll on us. That's why I recommend taking at least one day of the week to detox from social media. Take a 24 hour break from all social networks and connect with your surroundings, rather than your phone and computer screen.

SPEND THAT TIME DOING OTHER ACTIVITIES

Switch your phone for a book, a magazine or enjoy face to face conversations. I know this may be hard, because many of us actually work with digital tools, but if you have the option to take a break from your computer then it’ll do wonders for your mental health.
