HELLO HELLO!!

Good facial hygiene isn't only about washing your face and removing makeup before going to bed. Keeping the sacred tools you use to apply beauty products everyday shiny and clean is an essential part of your wellness routine. Brushes and sponges buildup dirt and oils that can cause breakouts or dermatitis. That’s why it's extremely important to wash them at least once a month or after each use if you wear a significant amount of makeup on the regular.

There are many techniques you can use to disinfect your favorite beauty tools. For instance, spray cleaners are super easy to use, however it doesn’t effectively remove all the accumulated bacteria. That’s why I personally prefer using soap and water to completely remove all unwanted substances. It’s the most budget-friendly, quick and easy way to sanitize and decontaminate your precious utensils.

Here’s my short step by step guide on how to do it:

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Laundry bar soap (it’s rich with foam and detergents)
  • A soft towel
  • Water

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Wet the bar of laundry soap and the brush or sponge.

Step 2:Once both elements are damp, slide the brush/sponge on the soap in circular motions.

Step 3: Rinse with water and use your fingers to remove the dirt from the brush/sponge.

Note: Never wet the entire brush, only the tips because it can damage the glue that sticks it all together.

Step 4: Once all tools are clean, proceed to drying. Place the sponges and brushes in the center of a small towel and lay it near a window. The sun will naturally dry them.

That 's it! By the next day your brushes will be good as new and ready to use!
